Show Utah-Juab County Firemen Fire-men Hold Convention The members of the Utah and Juab Co. firemen organization were guests of the Provo Fire Department Sunday, Sun-day, May 5, where it was decided to hold their annual tournament, June ( 25. At the close of the program & fire call came in, ann the convention guests saw a demonstration of the efficiency of the Provo Department. During the sumptuous luncheon, it was decided to include the boy scouts in the annual tournament on June 25. This will enable them to pass their firemens test. The firemen of each department are preparing to work for the pennants in hose coupling, ladder climbing and truck hose coupling. coup-ling. The following prizes will be given during the tournament: Provo fire department offers two prizes to boy scouts for four men hose coupling, $7 first and $3 second. For ladder climbing, $5 first and $2 second. Pleastnt Grove fire department gives the winners of the 100 yard rash 5 cases of strawberries first prize and three cases, second prize. American Fork fire department offers ;to scouts, four hens and a rooster for best four men relay, race. Springville fire department offers $5 first and $2.50 second for one man hose coupling race. Mammoth firemen offer $10 first and $3 second for one man coupling race for firemen. Spanish Fork fire department offers $5 for first prize and ?3 for second for best boy scout demonstration demonstra-tion in the parade, from any town in Utah or Juab counties. o |
