Show Am. Fork Places In Events At Regional Track anil Field Meet At t. tic regional track and field uii.i.l. Friday afti-rioun, May 3, at the "V" hlailiuin, American Fork high hcIhmjI planed in several events. American l''ork was the only entry In 'I ho medley relay, its team of Chadwlek, J. rroHton, IT. Preston and Walker qualifying for the state meet wllhout any competition. The other events won were as follows: 110 yard daah Chadwick, second. I'ole vault Nicholos, tied with I'a.son for fifth. (SSO yard run Chadwick, first. High jump Nicholet. and Payson tied for fifth. Wile relay American Fork, fourth. Medley relay American Fork, first. American Fork qualified for three events for the State meet, which was held yesterday (Friday) at the University Uni-versity of Utah stadium. Chadwick for the 440 and 8S0 yard run3 and the medley team (Walker, II. Preston J. Preston and Chadwick) comprise the list of qualifiers. The outcome of these events were not known as we went to press. In addition to the track and field entrants, the musical department entered the vocal and violin solo contests, and the Textile and Food departments entered a competitor. Mi.-is Loraine Boley and Luzell Chip-man Chip-man were the successful contestants to enter the vocal work, and Miss Ann Clayson was the violin entrant. Miss Margaret Birk and Miss Mildred Wandlass were the cooking and sewing sew-ing entrants respectively. The outcome of these contests will be given next week, o |
