CHRYSLER'S fv ,: srs:::': iiousecleanixg After a winter of ch-iins, antifreeze anti-freeze mixture, and snow with its accompany inj; hardships to r'r.gin' batteries, tin s, budy-bolts and steering steer-ing gear, not to mention the fan Lei t, and ignition system generally, the ear needs overhauling. Most ft-rvicc stations otter a spring overhauling over-hauling at a nominal lumped cost, but if not it behooves the careful driver to check up on the general conditions of his car. Here are a I few items which need attention at this time. The wheels should all be taken off, cotter pins replaced, valves inspected, in-spected, tires switched to gain uniform uni-form wear and alignment cared for. The radiator should be drained and flushed several times and filled with fresh water. The fan belt should he tightened and the water pump oiled mid watched for loose connections. Rotten or badly at-1 at-1 tached hose often causes leaks. I'.rakes should be inspected and additional mixture put in hydraulic brakes if necessary. Goose necks and steering knuckle should, be oiled thoroughly. Loose body bolts should be tighf-t ened and a thorough oiling given to all parts of the car. See that thq rear end .and transmission are Jlu roughly oiled. Inspection should be made of spark plugs and the engine tested for unusual carbon deposit, possible Installation of new rings or dirty ignition units. Have the mechanic blow the gas line clear and see tha the gas tank and line to the vacuum tank are free from dirt Cars witty an oil cleaning system should havd a new cartridge installed in the oil filter. The inside of the car should ba gone over with a good cleaner, new slip covers bought, if wanted,' and all buttons on top and side curtains replaced if missing. Don't forget your windshield' wiper.
