Show We're Wondering We have just been reading an article on flax growing in Minnesota, Min-nesota, the Dakotas and Montana, Mon-tana, and are wondering if it would be a good crop for our Delta country and if any one ever tried it here. Flax is raised in those states for the seed which is used for making linseed oil, and it is a very paying crop selling sell-ing as high as four cents per pound. It is one of the very best reducers of refractory soils and makes them soft and ,mellow in less time than any other method of handling. A few years ago it was considered a very hard crop on land but since; has been pronounced by scientists as not so hard on soil as either wheat or oats. It is a crop which can be planted late and is . most easily easi-ly harvested and cared for. i |
