Show Commercial Club Dance a Success The dance given by the band committee of the Delta Com- I mercial Club last Friday evening was a grand success and netted the committee fifty dollars which is to be diverted toward paying the balance due on the band instruments in-struments owned by the town. ; This leaves a balance of about fifty dollars which is to be raised in the future, be for the instruments instru-ments are clear of debt. There was in the neighbor-' ' hood of 250 people present at ' the affair and everyone seemed to have a most enjoyable time; Representation was present from Woodrow, Sutherland and Sug-arville. Sug-arville. Other attractions besides the dancing was the lunch, which the. , Home Economics Ass'n furnish-, ed and which was very nice and appreciated highly by the Commercial Com-mercial club members. The ladies furnished practically all the eatables served and turned the receipt to their labor as well as the cost of the viands over to the band committee. The Church Amusement Committee Com-mittee extended the free use of . the opera house. The Music wa3 furnished by . Jack Thurston, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Crawford and John Peterson, Pet-erson, without cost. Miss Helene Davis entertained entertain-ed the audience with a fancy dance and song. Billy Vander Vanter and company comp-any held down the boards during a period with a comedy called "Railroad Bill." The play called call-ed for the appearance of a loco- v motive on the stage and "Bill" was there with the goods to produce pro-duce it. A piece of chalk some tar paper and a few minor articles art-icles brot forth a real class H engine en-gine with whistle, bell fuzees etc., and when the time came she started off as proudly as tho she was attached to the Los Angele Limited. For all these complimentry services their participants have the thanks of the Band Committee Commit-tee and the appreciation of the audience. |
