William Baxter underwent an operation op-eration for hernia at the Lehi hospital Sunday. According to last reports, he is doing as well as can be expected. expect-ed. Chipman and Miss Ida Chipman were business visitors in Salt Lake City Friday.- Miss Eileen Chipman, who is attending the TJ. of U., accompanied them home for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nicholes are happy over the arrival of a winsome baby daughter born last Friday, March 1. All concerned are doing very nicely. Mrs. Nicholes was before her marriage, Miss Vivian Larsen. M'elvin Grant accompanied by Miss Leona Andreason of Vineyard, motored motor-ed to Salt Lake City Sunday, where they visited relatives. Mrs. Rose H. Grant, who had been at the home of Nell Pulley for a short time, accompanied accomp-anied them home. Word has been received by relatives rela-tives of the arrival of a fine baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nile Smith, in Glendale, California. Mrs. A. F. Smith, mother of Mr. Smith, is at the present in California with the happy parents. The American Orchestra furnished the dance music Saturday evening at Alpine. The occasion was in honor of the Alpine M Men, who were champions champ-ions of Alpine Stake. Members of the orchestra also furnished musical entertainment en-tertainment on the program. There were a number of American Fork guests in attendance. Chris Scott spent Monday in Salt Lake City in the interest of the Chip-man Chip-man Mercantile Co. Mrs. R. R. Wagsitaff, Miss Reva Wagstaff, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hansen Han-sen and Myron Moyle, motored to Salt Lake City Monday evening, where they attended the Utah made picture "All Faces West" playing at the Victory Theatre, Mrs. lone Norris Kramer of Eureka, Eure-ka, underwent an operation for appendicitis ap-pendicitis at the Lehi hospital Monday Mon-day morning. From last reports on her condition, she is doing nicely. Mrs. Kramer is the daughter of Mrs. Frank Norris of this city. Dr. Beveridge Bennion of Kansas City, Missouri, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Shoell Tuesday. Dr. Bennion is a brother to Mrs. Shoell, who was adopted by the Ben-nions Ben-nions at the death of his mother twenty-five years ago. This is the first time he has been here since then. He is locating in Salt Lake City, where he will practice dentistry. The brothers and sisters and their families of Elmer Chipman pleasantly pleasant-ly surprised him last Thursday evening, even-ing, the occasion being Mr. Chipman's birthday. Games and music were the evening's diversions, after which delicious de-licious refreshments were served. There were twelve present. Fitzgerald attended at-tended the funeral services of Berdie Daley in Springville last Friday. The body of the deceased was brought from Idaho for burial, Mrs. David S. Taylor attended a bridge luncheon in Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon given by the state organization of the Ladles Auxiliary of the American Legion. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Priday of the arrival of a winsome baby daughter at the home of their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simmons, in Mc Keesport, Pennsylvania, February 18. Mrs. Simmons was formerly Miss Florence Priday. An outstanding social event of the week was the reception given Monday evening by Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Evans, In honor of their forty-fourth wedding anniversary. The entertaining rooms were prettily decorated in a color scheme of red, white and blue. Other symbols suggestive of Hoover's inauguration in-auguration on that day were also employed. em-ployed. A delicious dinner was served serv-ed early in the evening.
