Show r I Mining JVofe. Mr. Craig, superintendent of the Yampa, reports re-ports good headway being made at that property. Three shifts are engaged in raising from the lower tunnel level and the same number are sinking to meet the raise. At the rate they are now going go-ing they should connect the two within the next thirty days. The Avondale Mining company recently organized organ-ized with Lewis Moore of Cincinnati as president, D. S. S. Taggart, vice president; B. W. Wilson, ) treasurer, and C. S. Hudson, secretary, is about to start extensive development work on their property adjoining the Naildriver. The property owned by the company is considered very valuable valua-ble and is surrounded by mines upon which a i great deal of work has been done within the past year. & & t i The equipment for the new mill of tho Four i Metals company is being delivered at their prop- I erty in the Dugway mining district and Manager I Moats announces that carpenters and millwrights will be sent to the property in a few days to begin be-gin the erection of the mill. This company has done much toward promoting interest in this district dis-trict and is confident that with the proper development devel-opment a showing will be made that will be an in-' in-' ' ducement to railroad companies to build into that section. & & The Silver Bell of Park City, after a shutdown shut-down of several months, resumed work this week. Work was suspended on this property last fall on account of insufficient funds, but since then an - assessment has been paid in and this along with 1 other funds that have been arranged for places "; the management in a position to push develop- j ment to a point where the mine will be self-sup- porting. At the time work was suspended a winze ' was being sunk from the tunnel level that fol- 1 lowed a nice chute of ore toward the main fissure. With each round of shots this chute improved in 1 width and at the one hundred-foot point was two feet in width. Foreman Reebe will use the Victor ( hand drilling maching in sinking the winze. & t 5 A company has been organized at Ely, Nevada, to operate an automobile line between that camp, Cherry Creek and Wells. The distance is a trifle over one hundred and forty miles, and will be I made in less than one-third the time it takes the stage to cover it. The new company is capitalized for $4,000, and wil carry both express and passengers. pas-sengers. A company in Indiana, which is build- ing the automobiles, has shown its faith in the new enterprise and its machines by taking stock in the new company. & & A strike of high-grade ore is reported in the May Day, but Manager J. A. Hunt pleads for more time in which to develop it before giving out anything for publication. It was learned, however, how-ever, that when the streak was first cut on Friday Fri-day last, it was less than a foot in width and since then has widened to nearly four feet and is becoming better with each shift. Mr. Hunt said they had been fooled so many times in the May Day that he felt it would be best to let development develop-ment proceed a little further in order that the real value of the strike might be determined. & j & Be a Little Cordial when friends drop in to dinner. Most everyone likes cordiality, and any one of our cordials is just the thing to finish a dinner. Creme de menthe, creame de rose, creame de cocoa, chartreuse, and many more. They're different in color, but each one is as smooth as the other. RIEGBR & LINDLEY, "The Whiskey Merchants." j |
