Show GOOD WOMAN GOES TO HER FINAL REST Funeral services for Mrs. George Vance were held in the L. D. S. chapel Tuesday, April 20th. Bishop H P. Hansen presiding. The choir sang "Rock of Ages." The opening prayer was offered by Howard Rigby. Singing, "Tho Deepning Trials," and Heber S. Olsen, Sidney Sanderson, William Mower and Bishop H. P. Hansen all spoke well of her life and paid many tributes- of respect and honor to her memory. She was of a modest and retiring disposition, . but she was a model wife and mother and hers was a life of service. A ' duet was given by Mrs. Ellis Coombs 1 and Mrs. George Olsen. Mrs. Vance was a relief society teacher and did her duty well. She ministered to the sick and needy in many ways. She has hosts of friends where ever she was known. A quartet was given by choir members, "Shall We Meet Beyond the River." The pall bearers were two sons and four sons-! sons-! in-law. The funeral was very well j attended showing the esteem in hwhich she was held. Many beautiful flowers were given. The officers and several members of the relief society carried the flowers. Those who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Hazzard Bills of Clear Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Vance of Clear Creek, Mrs. Florence Coleman of Thistle, Mrs. Martha Obern of Union, Mrs. Katie 'Fawbush of Monroe, i Mrs. Mary Vance was the daughter ;of John and Susan Wakefield and was 'jorn in Pottowatamie in Illinois. She came to Utah with her parents when only five years old and has made her home in Fairview for fifty years She went through all the nt Pimieer life. Her husband was an In'dian War Veteran. She had nine children, two of whom preceded pre-ceded her to the grave. . Her husband hus-band died about four years ago. She leaves two sons, twin brothers, Bishop Bish-op Byron Vance of Milburn and Myron My-ron Vance of Clear Creek and five daughters, Mrs. Hazzard Bills, Mrs. James Snow, Mrs. Roy Turpin, Mrs. Edward Housekeeper,, and Mrs. Henry Brady, and over' 30 grand children. |
