Show OPERA TROVES GREAT SUCCESS The rendition of the opera "The Gypsy Rover" by the Music Department Depart-ment of the Tooele High School under und-er the direction of Prof. J. M. Roy-clen, Roy-clen, instructor of music at the High school, proved one of the most delightful de-lightful musical offerings in Tooele for a long time. ! The part of Rob, the Gypsy Rover, was taken bv Leo Isgreen who assumed as-sumed the charcter in a very able manner, rendering the vocal selections selec-tions in his usual fine style, while Miss Eurilda Lee in the character of LadyConstance gave the part all that could be expected from a professional Around these Frof. Boyden worked in the members of the music department of the High School, the whole giving the effect of a real opera troupe. The large audience which filled the Opera House to capacity were de-. lighted with the rendition and Prof, j Boyden receiviug many fluttering j compliments on the able manner in j which he staged the opera. He has received a number ot requests to re- i pent t he performance. ! The opera has brought to light the unusual musical talent which Tooele! possesses and all that it takes is some one to bring it out. The play will do much to stimulate a love for good music which is really the object of musical insturction in the schools. Tooele Bulletin. |
