Show PROMINENT , WOMAN DIES , Provo, Nov. 25. Mrs. Anna J. N. , Berg, widow of Ole H. Berg of this i city, died today from a paralytic stroke at the Provo General hospital. hospi-tal. She was badly burned Tuesday when her clothing caught fire, while she was at the home of her ajon, Wy-man. Wy-man. and the shock resulted in the stroke which followed. .' Mrs. Berg was born at Odene, Denmark. Den-mark. September 10. 1844, and crossed cros-sed the plains with Captain Taylor's handcart company in 1865. She came directly to Provo, and a year later married O. H. Denmark; where he was a missionary for the L. D. S. church. She was an active church worker all her life and was widely known In the state. Mrs. Berg was the grandmother of E. B. Jorgensen of this city. He was in the city at the time of the accident acci-dent and went to see her. He states that his grandmother was in the bath room taking a bath and while dressing, dres-sing, her clothing came in contact with the gas heater, setting it afire. She ran through the house when her daughter-in-law grabbed her and smothered the flames, but only after she was horribly burned. Mr. Jorgensen went up to Provo to attend the funeral which was held Sunday. |
