Show Escalante Hsws By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Richard and Mary Lyman are here for the summer and have their Padre Motel open for business. Lori Beebe has been keeping the Lott's Legacy Motel open until Dennis and Pauline Lott can be here for the summer. Ruby Griffin came, from St. George, to spend Mother's Day weekend. Garrett Cottam reported his LDS Mission on Mother's Day in the Escalante LDS First Ward. His sister, Natalie, was a speaker also and gave . a tribute to mothers. Many friends and relatives of the Cottams attended meeting that day. The family of Sherrill and Karen Ott came from Tropic and joined with the Cottams for dinner at the home of Myron and Sannette Cottam Cot-tam after LDS sacrament meeting. The Escalante Second LDS Ward "Young Women" presented the program honoring their mothers. moth-ers. Wayne and Shauna Jackson came from up north to spend the weekend with Tom and Marilyn Jackson and Wayne's grandfather, Beryl Shurtz. If you have seen two scouts riding rid-ing the old roads, the range and the river beds, it's Ben Porter and McKay Bailey. They and their trusty steeds, McKay's mule "Sweet Alice" and Ben's horse "Bubbles", have been riding the old Boulder road and surrounding areas. It's not like chasing a cow, but at least they are still in the saddle! Sherree Rechtsteiner, Leslie Venuti and Shirley Marsh recently attended an internet Geneology Research Re-search Workshop at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. They said it was "Wonderful". |
