Show Annual Special Olympics 'Torch Run" Saturday The annual Utah Law Enforcement Enforce-ment Torch Run for Utah Special Olympics is set for Saturday, May 22 with stops in three Garfield County communities. Beginning in Escalante at noon, the run will go through Tropic at 2 p.m. and conclude in Panguitch at 4 p.m. Runners and walkers are asked to participate in the event as it passes through each community. Refreshments will be served at Escalante City Park and at Tropic Town Park; at Panguitch City Park, hamburgers will be served to the runners. T-Shirts, at $12, with the names of last year's winning communities com-munities will be available for purchase, pur-chase, along with hats at $8, and pins at $3. Garfield County's last effort raised almost $2,000 for Utah Special Olympics, winning the county a spot on the winners' shirt, donations may also be made by check to Utah Special Olympics Heading up the county's efforts to help bring together this year's Special Olympics that provide a forum for physical competition for Utah's handicapped are Deputy Sheriff Monte Luker and his wife Sylvia of Escalante.
