Show Open House To Honor Heola Couple On Their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary , Sixty years of married life ; together will be celebrated next i ' Sunday at Neola, when the family fam-ily of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dun- j can will honor their parents, who were married January 28, 1891 in the Logan temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter Day Saints, and have lived in the Uintah Basin since 1909. Open house will be held Sunday Sun-day from 2 to 5 p. m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jim Rhodes, in Neola, and all relatives rel-atives and friends of the aged couple are invited to pay their compliments to Mr. and Mrs. Duncan. Mr. Duncan, who was 81 in October, was born in Salt Lake City Oct. 22, 1869, the son of Peter and Annie McNeil Duncan, Dun-can, and his wife, who is one year younger, began her earthly journey at Farmington, Oct. 15, 1870, a daughter of Heber and Margaret Thayne Moon. It was at Woodland, in Sum-'mit Sum-'mit county, where Peter Dun-Ican Dun-Ican met his bride-to-be, and after af-ter their marriage, they continued con-tinued to live in this community until they decided to enter the Uintah Basin as homesteaders in 1909. Ten children were born to this aged couple during the 60 years of their married life, eight of whom are still living, and will be on hand Sunday to assist as-sist their parents in observing their sixtieth anniversary. They have 36 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, Their living children all live at Neola, except one daughter, Mrs. Zina Mecham, whose home is in Orem. The others are: Mrs. Evelyn Rhodes, Ivan, Joe, Olaf, Eldon, McNeik. and La-Rene La-Rene Duncan, of Neola. |
