Show Polio Chairman Makes Final Plea For Support Duchesne county March of Dimes director, Mrs. Harold Dillman says, "The attitude of the county toward the March of Dimes thus far has brought to my mind the second greatest commandment of our Lord, 'Love thy neighbor as thyself.' " "With heaits responsive to this great command, and minds aware of the tremendous need of funds to care for the increased in-creased number of polio patients yearly; plus the heavy load of long-term cases; plus the increasing in-creasing cost of care; minus the decreasing value of the dollar, I am sure the people of Duchesne Du-chesne county will give far above last year's sum of $1,-376.58," $1,-376.58," Mrs. Dillman slated. "Last year our county's average, av-erage, per capita, was $.1537. Our goal for this year is to triple that gift. The state average aver-age was $.2874 per capita. Let us be above that average. ' "It is not my desire to ask the business houses of each community to provide the greater great-er amount of money needed to meet this goal, but that each individual in-dividual businessman, professional profes-sional person, housewife or school child will 'dig; down deep' and give to the point of sacrifice to this worthy cause "It is the hope of the nation that the day will soon come when this most costly of all epidemic diseases can be conquered; con-quered; that the many dollars invested in rsearch for a preventative pre-ventative will bear fruit. "The Great Physician, who first taught us to believe in the ministry of healing, has promised that if we give, unto us shall be given. Our request can be that He will give us the answer to our prayers for protection pro-tection from Polio, and that He will prosper us to enable us to give of our dimes and dollars to cave for those already crippled by this dreaded disease." |
