Show 0000ff TO THD Sportsmen of Duchesne County have no problems. Plenty of game, excellent fishing, adequate pheasants, quail and ducks. Satisfied that nothing can be done for improvement im-provement of game habitat, or fishing resources. Predators are no problem. The sportsman sports-man is guaranteed the privilege of hunting and use of firearms all the days of his life without any action being taken. This, appears to be the attitude. I wish that were right. Apparently most of the sportsmen sports-men think that why, else would the organizations fail to attract members to do something some-thing about the above problems, plus many others known to exist real or fancied? Two months now the Duchesne Fish and Game Club has tried to get enough members to a meeting to hold an election. Three showed up March 28, six showed up February 28. The three previous meeting nights no one was present except ex-cept the president. It seems apparent that every sportsman in the county is well satisfied and there is nothing to be done locally. I understand Roosevelt and Altamont are unable to hold meetings because no one is interested in attending meetings. meet-ings. Game rides are going on right now. In April the browse transects will be studied for recommendations on next fall's hunts. Few are interested interest-ed to find out the purpose of the rides or see first hand the . problems or what can be done to solve them. It is discouraging to try to hold an organization together with no one coming to decide what is to be done I cannot step down as president until an election is held to replace me or have the membership present long enough for a decision on what is to be done with the clubs finances. The last Monday of April is next scheduled meeting. Thanks for the money I'll see you sometime. Harvey Gee, President |
