Show CAR TURNS TURTLE ON THE HIGHWAY C. B. Wilson and his sister, Mrs. L. J. Martin of Santa Cruz, California, on their way to Kan-sas Kan-sas City, were crowded off the road on Highway 40 about eleven miles west of Duchesne, last Friday, Fri-day, doing considerable damage their car. Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Martlnto escaped with minor bruises and abrasions. Mr. Wilson, who was at one time a resident of Western Colorado, Color-ado, was driving with his sister, owner of the car, to Kansas City for a short visjt. They had been following two trucks loaded with, sheep coming into the Basin, for some distance, flnnally succeeding In passing the first one,- but unable un-able to attract the attention of the leading truck, which was commanding com-manding the center of the road. As the truck was traveling at a pretty slow pace, and stirring up considerable dust, Mr. Wilson finally attempted to pass the lead truck, but was caught by loose gravel and thrown off the road, his car landing on its top, and shaking up both occupants. The second truck stopped and picked the two people up, bringing bring-ing Mrs. Martin to Duchesne where she made arrangements to have the car towed In, and re-palred. re-palred. They continued on their way Sunday, after having their car repaired at a local garage. The couple, both quite elderly had just seen a serious accident west of Salt Lake City, where several persons were killed and badly burned, and their own accident ac-cident gave them a good scare, though no serious injuries resulted. |
