During their visit, several informal parties were given o Mrs. Ernest Robbins and daughter daugh-ter Winston, surprised Mrs. Arthur Orr Tuesday by dropping in unexpectedly and spending a few days with her. . Mrs. Stephen Shelton and family fam-ily are moving to Price for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bates had as week-end guests, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Blomstrom and family from Tooele and Howard Gee, probation office from Salt Lake Mrs. Blomstrom and Mr. Gee are sister and brother of Mrs. Bates. o Mrs. Hildur Johnstun returned from Heber Sunday evening accompanied ac-companied by her niece and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. LeMar Birkin-shaw Birkin-shaw of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Johnstun's mother in Heber is recovering re-covering from her serious illness. o The members of the Women's Study Club joined in giving a luncheon at the home of Mrs. . R. G. Porter, honoring Mrs. Mary Connor, retiring president. After luncheon, election of officers for the coming year took place. They are as follows: Mrs. R. M. Pope, president; Mrs. Arthur Brown, vice president; Mrs. Melvin Poul- son, secretary and treasurer. The new president appointed Mrs. H. S. Liddell, chaiman of the, Program Committe and Mrs. C. H. Selch, librarian. The meaning and purpose of the NRA was outlined out-lined by Mrs. Grant Murdock. Hotel guests in Duchesne during dur-ing the week iucluded: Ralph Walker of Myton; Abe W. Turner Tur-ner of Provo; F. M. Alder of Provo; Mrs. Maude Potter of Talmage; M. B. Pope of Provo; and Dallas H. Young of Vernal. Weston and Selma Bates left Duchesne Wednesday to attend high school. Weston will attend the high school at Tooele, and Selma is going to Lincoln High in Provo. |
