Show a hod 1 'B , A HUDGE Well, sir, the Sugar House chamber of commerce parking lots, the lots that take congestion and overtime parking out of the streets, are still in a deplorable shape. The city has done nothing to smooth them off or to surface them. Must be that Comissioner's Rom-ney Rom-ney and White are not up for reelection re-election this year or they'd take these gentle nudges to heart and get on the ball to fulfill their promises. These promises aren't much. They .call only for grading and surfacing of the parking lots, two or three of which are a risk to drive on. Sugar House business people and their employes cooperate 100 per cent to keep their cars off the street and to provide ample space for their patrons who drive in to shop with convenient places to park in virtually every corner of the area. But the city, though substantial pledges have been made, does nothing, and makes one and all feel that street parking is better than the risk of ruining their automobiles on the lots. |
