Show YOUTH SHOOTS COMPANION III ACCIDENT Playing with fire-arms is worse than playing with mere fire in some cases, Sugar House police reported, as they recounted how a 13 year old boy shot down his playmate while having fun with his father's .32 calibre revolver. Wounded in the neck and partially par-tially paralized was 11 year old Patrick Hutchings of 1550 South 16th East. His condition was reported re-ported fair, although it was feared his lower body might be permanently perma-nently paralyzed as the slug ripped through vital nerve tissues tis-sues in his neck. Police said Bryan K. Madsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Mad-sen, Mad-sen, 1586 Emerson avenue, fired the shot that wounded young Hutchings. Patlorman Robert Odell reported report-ed he answered the emergency call, and that he was told the youngsters took the Madsen family guns, the revolver and a 30-30 rifle to play with. They unloaded the cartridges, but one apparently lodged in the revolver. Young Madsen clicked the trigger, trig-ger, and the next thing he knew his companion was writhing on the floor of his living room, Officer Offi-cer Odell said. |
