Show Jackson Slates Aims in Bid For Nomin ation A five-point prosram with special Emphasis on youth problems prob-lems and traffic safetv has been outlined by Edward B. Jackson, 1817 E. 3900 S-, candidate for the Democratic nomination for sher-riff sher-riff of Salt Lake County. A former for-mer deputy s heriff and state officer of-ficer for the past ten years, Mr. Jackson is a graduate of Granite Gran-ite high, LDS business college and the International College of Pharmacy, Scranton, Pa.; after aft-er which he was employed at the Utah Drug Company and with his brothers in the oil busi ness. During the war he served with the civil air patrol, an auxiliary of the army air forces, where he held the rating of a lieutenant. lieuten-ant. A member of the Salt Lake squadron, and commanding officer of-ficer of the Murray and Holla- day flights, he was actively flying on search missions for lost army planes. A native of Salt Lake City he has been very active in the LDS church. Served three and I one-half years in the New Zea-1 land mission. A worker in the Valley View Ward, Big Cottonwood Cotton-wood stoke, and during the past five years has also served as a memler of the law observance and enforcement (committee of the church. He has been in the insurance business since-resigning his post as a state officer, where he was very active in directing an edu-' edu-' cational program and prevent-' prevent-' ing minors from obtaining alcoholic al-coholic beverages. |
