Show Holladay Lions Club President ... .D. Webster Richards Jr. 1st Vic3 Pres Wayne L. Shaw 2nd Vice Pres L. A. Springett 3rd Vice Pres. Wayne Nichol Secretary Roy HoHbs Treasurer S. C. Gaddie Chairman Club Publicity Committee BY MEL.WRTGTIT "". -"- Now that we are on the eve of electing new officers it might be well for each and every one of us to dig out the constitu-, tion and by-laws of our club and read them over very carefully. care-fully. The retiring officers could use the review, the incoming officers of-ficers should study this all important im-portant document, that they may guide the club during the new year a head of us. The new committees com-mittees that will be appointed will find outlined all their duties du-ties in the last part of this interesting in-teresting book. The new members mem-bers that were installed in February Feb-ruary will find much that will help guide them in this organization organ-ization and the more we all read it over the better the organization organ-ization can and will function. Lets all take this official constitution con-stitution and the by-laws contained con-tained there-in seriously and we will continue to have the finest club in the state, and will be one of the leaders in the international in-ternational organization. If you do not have a copy it is suggested suggest-ed that you ask the secretary to secure one for you. j While we are on the subject of elections may I remind the members of the club that by now they should have received in the mail their copy 'of the official ballot containing the names of all candidates for office or the board of directors for the 194647 fiscal year. Lets save this election night to go to meeting and cast our ballots for the members that we feel will carry on the work of this organization. or-ganization. By the way, the date on the ballot informs us that the election will be held on the. 11th of 'June. This is a typographical typo-graphical error and should have been Thursday, June 13th. Secretary Sec-retary Roy Hobbs called this to my attention before he mailed them out but in order to be sure that this list was in your hands two weeks before election he thought it best to mail them wih fthat date on If you will note in the letter attached with the ballot it states that the election will be held on THURSDAY, THURS-DAY, (JUNE 13TH. Up to now the reservations for the state convention have 1 been rather slow in coming in. If you plan to attend this first post-war state convention you had better contact Lion Frank Withers, secretary Roy Hobbs or President Web Richards. Please take care of this matter now, as it is important ,-that the See HOLLADAY on Pg. 8 Holladay - - (Continued from Page One) fellows at Cedar City know how many of us will be in attendance. attend-ance. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned men-tioned that a rather large number num-ber of the members had NOT paid for their subscription to the Bulletin. Since then a few have taken pare of this matter but there are still a few that have yet to kick through. To help take care of this little deal. I shall at our next business meeting be very happy to accept all payments that are due. It will help us close the books properly if you will take care of this matter not later than the evening of this meeting. Also it will save me the trouble of calling on you personally. Gus Backman, executive secretary sec-retary of the Salt Lake chamber of commerce wiil be the speaker speak-er at our election night meeting, June 13. He will discuss the Geneva steel plant and its effects on Utah, and also give us an outline of what we may do to assist in the Utah Centennial. With a program like this lined up for election night it should be well worth our while to be in attendance. Some members tnay feel that this ariouncement is a little premature, but Lion Roy Linton, chairman of the entertainment committee, informs us that the installation party has been set for Tuesday, July 2, at Maxfield Lodge in Big Cottonwood. In view of the fact that this is a change from our regular meeting meet-ing schedule, we desire to give everyone as much advance notice no-tice as we can. This affair will replace our regularly scheduled dinner meeting, normally held on the. second Thursday in July. Keep the date in mind July 2. Chairman Linton also informs us that the entertainment com- mittee will put on a special program pro-gram at the Utah Blind workshop work-shop to entertain members of that organization on Saturday, June 8, at 8 p.m. The program I will include musical numbers and readings. |
