Show Mourned Courtesy Salt Ij&ke Tribune MISS RUTH REES Constitution Is Basis for Legion Contest Because of their great citizenship, citizen-ship, the American Legion are sponsoring again this year, the National Na-tional Oratorical Contest, the winner win-ner of which will receive a $4000 scholarship to any University in the United States. A Regional Contest, for schools in Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele Counties will be held in the Murray Mur-ray High School Auditorium, Saturday, Sat-urday, March 27, 1943. The two winners of this contest will compete com-pete in Murray April 3, 1943 in a state contest. The winner in the state will have all expenses paid for his trip to and from the American Legion National Convention. The topic for oration in Utah is, "The Rights We Defend." It should be memorized, and not over 12 minutes in length. Besides this oration, a five minute min-ute extemporaneous speech dealing with the constitution, will be required. re-quired. Any high school student is eligible eli-gible to participate.
