Show Cubs Willing To Give Up Extra Activity Poll Indicates Students Are f'1 War Conscious South high school students favor retaining dances and all-regular extra-curricular activities as long as no special request is received on the contrary and the retainment of such activity would not greatly hamper the war effort, a cross sectional sec-tional poll conducted by Scribe this week, revealed. Ninety-three percent of Cubs questioned voted to continue with extra activities, although some other high schools have streamlined stream-lined their system so that only the regular curriculum is present. pres-ent. "Student morale is exceptionally important in war-time," one student stu-dent 'answered, "Terefore, I believe we should continue with dances and other activities." "If we gave up dances here, the students would go elsewhere, under a less wholesome environment," another an-other replied. Those ho .voted "yes" to giving up dances said that we must all make sacrifices in war and now is as good a time as anyto start extensively ex-tensively aiding the ar effort by giving up transportation, decorating decorat-ing materials, etc., for more important im-portant needs. Ninety-seven percent voted to give up the extra-curricular activities ac-tivities if a special request is received re-ceived from the government, but few thought that such a request would ever .be made. A broadminded attitude among Southerners was noted during the poll.
