Show 7 n Unica Hea-Vill. Entertain Distinguished Visitors From Wales. . Organized labor In Salt Lake will give a rousing welcome to .the distinguished Welsh labor leaders, James Wlgnall and WCllam Abraham, M. P. A mass meeting meet-ing will be held In their honor at the Federation hail Wednesday evening. It will be open to the public and all members mem-bers of labor orgunlz&tlon are urged tk attend. Nothing- will be left undone to show the visitors that Utah unionists have the true spirit and that they know how to dispense hospitality. The meeting will be presided over by II. B.. Cromar and President J. T. Lav-ery Lav-ery of the Utah Federation of Labor will make the address of welcome. Mr. Lavery met Messrs; Abraham and Wlgnall Wlg-nall at the meeting of the American Federation of Labor at San Francisco. The Welshmen were delegates from their country to the federation. It is the Intention to make the meeting- one of the most Interesting ever held in Salt Lake. Both visitors will make addresses telling- of labor conditions In Wales and elsewhere and giving their Impressions of America. Tuesday Mr. Wlgnall and his wife were taken to Murray. A committee of union men from Bingham Junction met them here and the party was accompanied accom-panied by several Salt Lake unionists. After visiting Murray they went to the Highland Boy smelter and then drove to Bingham Junction to Inspect the mines and smelters there. Mr. Wlgnall wao formerly a wnelter man and he takes much Interest In the processes used in the United States. Mr. Abraham will arrive In Salt Lake Wednesday. The Cambrians will entertain the visitors vis-itors with a recital at the Tabernacle Thursday evening. The Tabernacle choir. Organist McClellan and Mra Lizzie Liz-zie Thomas -Edwards will furnish the programme. - At this time Mr. Abraham Abra-ham will speak on the labor systems of Great Britain and America. |
