Show Naming Dirigible "Macon" The dirigible Macon was named for the city of Macon, Ga. This city received its name in honor of Nathaniel Na-thaniel Macon, who at the outbreak of the Revolutionary war was a student stu-dent at Princeton university and signed up as a private In a company of volunteers. He continued as a private, although numerous offers of commissions were tendered him. He was speaker of the house of representatives repre-sentatives from 1S01 to 1S06 and served in the senate from 181G to 1S26. |
