Show Annual Road Show Program The annual Alpine stake M. I. A. road show, one of the biggest events in the M. I. A. calendar, will take place next Monday and Wednesday nights, November 27th and 29th. The shows will be given Monday night in Highland and Alpine, and on Wednesday night in the four L. D. S. chapels of this city. As heretofore the show will be given in progressive style, the acts to be taken to each of the meetinghouses in rotation. A very small fee is being charged and all funds derived de-rived will remain in the wards. People are urged to see the shows in their own wards and assist their own organization. TP n nVi tttci Ac nvanni'iTMr on a n which will take from twelve to fifteen minutes to present. The shows are not necessarily original and judging for the first place will be the ward audiences. A prize of a dozen M. I. A. song books is offered by the stake for the act receiving the highest score. Following are the names of the acts and a short sketch of each: HIGHL AND This show will have a Hawaiian setting and has a historical his-torical setting. The story will depict' de-pict' the defiance of the Hawaiian queen against the volcanic god. The act is named "Thous Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me." Alpine: "The Heathen," a one-act one-act play will be given by the Alpine ward. Richard Wiser is the director and the characters are: "Charlie," Dave Darger; "Alice," Vonda Smith; "Wing Lee," Jack Bair; "Inspector Barnes," Orion Burgess; "Riley," Sheldon Hamnett. FIRST WARD "Secrets" is the name of this ward's act and will be a singing, and dancing number with a pleasing climax of sentiment. senti-ment. A telephone scene is the big feature. The cast includes 22 people. peo-ple. SECOND WARD The Second' ward show is named "The Challenge," Chal-lenge," an M. I. A. theme developed in singing mainly. The cast consists con-sists of 12 young men and women. THIRD WARD The Third ward will present a musical dramatization dramatiza-tion act with a background of memories mem-ories as the theme. Fifteen characters char-acters are taking part. FOURTH WARD "The Spirit of the M. I. A." is the title of the aot from this ward and depicts the service ser-vice that may be rendered by the class and activity groups of the organization in the church, the community and nation. The schedule has been worked out in the following manner: Highland Monday ' Night Alpine, First ward, Second ward, Third ward, Fourth4 ward and Highland. Alpine Highland, Third ward, Fourth ward, Fust ward, Second ward and Alpine. The shows will start in both places at 7:30 p. m. On Wednesday night the schedule reads: First ward Commencing at 7.: 45 p. m. with Alpine ward first, followed fol-lowed by the Fourth ward, Third ward, Highland, Second ward and First ward. Second ward Commencing at 7:50 p. m. with the First ward first, followed by Alpine, Fourth ward, Third ward, Highland and Second Sec-ond ward. Third ward lOommencing at 7:55 p. m. with Highland ward first, followed by Second ward, First ward, Alpine ward, Fourth ward and Third ward. Fourth ward Commencing at 8:00 p. m. with Third ward first, followed fol-lowed by Highland, Second ward, First ward, Alpine, and Fourth ward. |
