Show THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Volume VI, Issue II Page 5 May 1, 2002 Liberty Student Competes in Idaho and Utah National Teen-Ager Miss Anne Shaw, age 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blain Shaw of Liberty, has been selected as a finalist in the 2002 Utah National Teen-Ager Scholarship Program to be held May Anne Shaw 31 and June 1 in the Ragan Theater on the Campus of Utah Valley State College. The Utah National Teen-Ager Scholarship program is the official state finals to the 31st Annual National Teen-Ager Program to be held in Nashville Tennessee August 2002. Contestants are judged on 30% Academic Achievement, 30% Leadership, 30% Communication Skills, and 10% on Poise and Personality. There will be a State Winner and Runners-up in two age divisions: students, ages 12 to 15 years; and 16 to 18 years. Anne is from Liberty, Utah. She is a junior at Weber High School, where she is consistently on the High Honor Roll, and a member of the National Honor Society. She is a member of the Drama Club, and very active in community service. Anne is being sponsored by Tyler Shaw D.D.S; Robert L. The organization, which celebrated the its first anniversary at the end of March, currently has 57 members. The Association’s newest members include: Grass Plus Heritage Financial Group Tanner Appraisal Wadman Corporation Wasatch Paving & Excavation Zions Bank The OVBA website at www.ovba.org continues to provide information, not only for the members of the OVBA, but for Valley residents and visitors to the area. New to the website is a detailed Calendar of Events, which is updated monthly. The OVBA will be participating this year in the Annual Ogden Marathon, to be held Saturday, May 4. Volunteers will be staffing the relief station located at the Valley Market, as well as staffing a booth at the finish area at the Ogden Amphitheater. Copies of the Ogden Valley map developed by the OVBA will be distributed to marathon participants and visitors to the booth. Other activities the OVBA will be involved in during the next few months include the 4th of July celebrations in Ogden Valley and the Eden Balloon Festival in August. The next monthly meeting of the OVBA will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at The Valley Junction Inn.
