IRS District Office, has been assigned Assistant Director at the Ogden Internal Revenue Service Center. Rivett replaces Thomas Laycock who has been J. pointed Regional Commissioner for Accounts, and Taxpayer SerChicago, 111. A career government official, Rivett began his IRS service in 1962 as a revenue agent in the San Francisco District. After a Collection vice in series of increasingly responsible positions, he was selected as a Data Processing and Intern Management transferred to the IRS National Office. Just prior to his appointment to the IRS Executive Selection and Development Program in 1973, he was the Accounting Branch Chief in the Fiscal Management Division. Glenn August has had a full slate of activities in addition to a busy harvest schedule including the various games that have been reported. Some of the events in addition include a Father's and Sons outing up near the Willard Peak area for the Willard Ward men that came during a cold spell Aug. 9 and 10 but was enjoyed by those who went anyway. The Weblos and their Fathers from the Willard second ward went up to the Box Elder Canyon for a special outing staying overnight during the month. A regional special interest steak fry was held in Box Elder Canyon picnic area Aug. 14 that attracted several members from the Willard area. Apparently he will survive but the most serious injury seems to be his shoulder separation. The doctors plan to see if it will heal by itself first and then if it does not heal they will operate and tie it together with wire. Air Force Reserve Officers training corps field training encampment at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. During the encampment, department has announced a cooperative crime prevention program with the Brigham City senior citizens board. The program will begin Friday with the presentation of on a seminar burglary prevention at the senior citizens noon meeting. Combating crime is not soley the responsibility of law enforcement agencies. It is a social problem that can never be resolved by the police or criminal justice alone. Crime reduction can come about only criminal if the community, personnel and dividuals work together, says Police Chief Steve Studdert.
