That advice comes from Dr. Gerald G. Krueger, assistant professor of medicine and head of the division of dermatology at the University of Utah Medical center. Actually, everyone would be better off if they forgot about trying to acquire the healthy tan look, especially if they are light complected, Dr. Krueger said. Its quite common to see people with second degree burns (those accompanied by blistering) caused by overexposure to the sun, and Ive even seen a few third degree burns," he added. Third degree burns destroy Couple sets autumn date Miss Lani Bernards of Orem will become the bride of David Braithwaite of Perry in a wedding rite set for Sept. 14 by the couple. The bride-to-b- e is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeGrand Gernards, Orem. She is a graduate of Orem High school and a four year LDS Seminary attended graduate, Brigham university. Prospective Prime Time Prime time for getting bad burns from the suns rays is between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Dr. Krueger said. It's possible to be burned at other hours, but it usually takes longer. If a person tries to tan gradually, he should expose himself to the sun at the same time each day, he warned. For example, 30 minutes in the sun at 10 a.m. will produce the same effect as 10 minutes at 1 p.m. far as commercially availabe sun screens are As concerned. Dr. Krueger said some currently on the market do little good in protecting the body. The best ones contain a substance known as para ammo benzoic acid (PABA) and are clear in color. Consumers interested in finding products containing PABA can check the ingredient labels. If a sever burn does occur, the commercially available topical sprays offer only short-terrelief, the U dermatologist added. There are some steroid sprays available for burns that help, but they can be obtained only through a physicians prescription. and has Young bridegroom Braithwaite is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don L.
