Harrli Melvin Gibbs, 84, a former Portage resident, died at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Aug. 23. He is survivied by his widow, Emma Elizabeth Landon Gibbs and two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ardis) Fullmer of Moreland, Idaho; Mrs. Leo (Thora Pearl) Prestwich of Idaho Falls, Idaho; one sister, Mrs. John F, (Tillie) Conley, Portage, two brothers, Arthur L. Gibbs, Portage; LeRoy ElVoid Gibbs of Wendell, Idaho. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Idaho Falls and interment was in the Portage Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John and Mrs. Woodrow Clark left Monday for Fresno, Calif, where they will attend the wedding ceremony uniting Jeffrey Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Clark, and Miss Leslie McWilliams. Weekend Guest Miss Paula of Goody Clarkston was the weekend guest of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John and family. Mrs. Ralph Gleed and Mrs. Leatha Schwartz of Malad, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richards and family of Laramie, Wyo. were Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris. High Counselor Foster Ipsen and Douglas Hansen of Malad, Idaho, were the speakers at Sacrament here meeting Sunday evening. Wm. L. Gibbs underwent optical surgery at the LDS hospital in Logan Monday. He returned to his home Friday. Mrs. Glen Morris, Mrs. Pearl Hawks of Ogden and Mrs. L.H. Thorpe of Leadville, Colo, were Salt Lake City visitors Friday. Mrs. Moyle Knudsen is visiting in LaHabra, Calif, with her and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Weaver and family. Mrs. Rose Harris of Salt Lake and City, her daughter. Mr. and - .Mrs. (Carolyn) Grace of Belmont, Calif, are visiting at Mrs. Harris home here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Harris and family of Kearns visited with them Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wiser of son-in-la- son-in-la- Lewiston. Susan Hansen ..receives honor BEHS graduate named to list Susan Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hansen 327 North Fifth East, Brigham City, has been named to the list of Whos Who among American high school students. Susan is a graduate of Box Elder high school. While at Box Elder she was active in the National Honor society, Dance club, Art club, and was an officer in the Future Homemakers of America. She has also been active in community affairs as well as LDS church activities. She is a graduate of LDS seminary. Susan will now appear in the Eighth annual edition of Whos Who among high school students and will also be included in competition for one of 10 scholarship awards ranging from $500 to $1,000 funded by the publishers. Conley to their home due to the death of Mrs. Conleys brother, Melvin Gibbs.
