Her love for art grew throughout Junior High and High School. She received a Bachelors of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2010. While completing her degree she worked as an apprentice to William Whitaker, nationally acclaimed figurative artist. Working with Whitaker she studied clas- sical Atelier caste drawings. In her senior year Anna had was accepted into the Society of Illustrators 52nd Annual. In September 2010 Anna had a solo exhibition of 26 works in the Harris Fine Arts Center. Throughout her schooling and career her main influences have been Robert Barrett, National Educator of the Year 2010 awarded by the Society of Illustrators. William Whitaker, Bethanne Andersen, Richard Hull and Greg Newbold. Her most revered artists of the past are Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent. Currently Anna works with oil on wood or linen panels. She begins with a loose under painting blocking in the basic shapes and values of her subject then gradually builds each layer until a finished painting emerges. Anna loves drawing and painting from life and is constantly trying new techniques and styles to improve her work.
