Show The Twenty-Fourth. Preparations are about completed for the celebratien and festivities on the 21lh. Lke Point is the centre ol attraction for people residing io ttiis city and vicinity. The railway company has gone to considerable expense to accommodate and enter-Uiu enter-Uiu the 2,000 or 3,000 ladies and gentlemen who will CO out to the point on Tuesday. Among the attractions at-tractions there are the yacht, punt and tub races, the delightful bathing, popular games, the dance in the evening, etc. A large crowd will o to Logan and enjoy the excursion, and participate in the celebration and festivities at that place, consisting of horse racing, a cricket match, dancing, etc. The Logan people have mado every ar raogemeut to entertain their friends, and a jolly lime may he expected. Oleen & Currie's brass band 01 this cily will be in attendance. The cheapness of the Logan excursion will make it popular. Tbe train 1 leaves here at 7 o'clock a.m. on Mon 1 day. The Sunday school jubilee in the new tabernacle promises to be a grand success, and mo-t of thoee who re main in the cily will doubtless be attracted to that place for enjoyment Fuller's Hill and Lindsey's gardens will also he resorted to freely, and the usual amusements ol the occasion will be indulged in. The day will be observed as a holiday holi-day generally throughout the territory. |
