Show oo j Keep the Patients lo Array Hospitals Always Cheerful WASHINGTON, Dec. 10. A recreation recrea-tion program designed at once to keep tho patients in military reconstruction hospitals cheerful and normal and at the same time to supplement the corrective cor-rective physical treatment of the medical med-ical officers, has been agreed upon botween the surgeon general's staff and the bureau of camp service of the America Red Cross. It was disclosed today that the plan is to be put into effect at onco in 25 hospitals where some fifteen thousand casps or men maimed or suffering from sheJl shock are under treatment. The object will be to keep the patients pa-tients happily employed, to encourage the maimed to enter fully into social activities, and, by carefully chosen games and exercises fitted to each class, to encourage men through play to use dormant muscles and to Increase In-crease their ability to make one limb do more and more the work of two. on |
