Show TWO MORE PIONEERS GONE Summit County Loses William Bond and Edward Powell Coalville May 25 Two more veteran pioneers of Summit county passed into the great beyond yesterday William Bond of Hennefer who came to this country in very early days He crossed the plains with the handcarts settled first at Provo then at Salt Lake and finally in 162 in Hennefer Summit county where he lived till yesterday when he was called home He wasin his SId year and a native of England UntIl his death he was a faithful Lat erday Saint the father of a large and hIghly respected family who with a legion of friends will mourn his loss i Upton of this county ten miles east of here was called upon the same day I to give up one of Its aged citizens I Father Edward Powell He was a pioneer l pio-neer and one of the founders of the thrifty little town where he lived and I died In very early days he too came I to this country from England A large I I family of sons and daughters many of whom have large families also survive him He came here as a Latterday Saint to which faith he was firm until death which overtook him near the fourscore mark Thus are two pillars taken from our community who though far advanced in years will be greatIy missed both having been stalwarta In building up and redeeming this mountain country as well as staunch advocates of right jetf uo r W wO and justlce among their fellow men I |
