Show ; u City Judge Finds Citizen Guilty On Gambling Charge When the case of American Fork City vs. Don Chipman, which was posponed from Monday to Thursday, came up a verdict of guilty was given by Judge Adolph Nielsen. A fine of $50 or thirty days in jail was assessed. assess-ed. An appeal to the district court was filed by Mr. Chipman and bonds accepted by the city. At the hearing the city called In as witnesses the Mr. Sweeney who was involved in the case, City Marshal Durrant and Night Officer Birk. The defense failed to give any evidence or try to contridict any of the city's evidence, simply going thru the formal form-al trial before filing their appeal. The case will likely come up in the county seat in a month or two. |
