L. Ashby, who is a member of the County Fair Board, was a special guest at tho Live Stock Show in Spanish Fork Thursday. Thomas W. Brown, who was operated op-erated on last Saturday in the L. D. S. hospital at Salt Lake City for goitre, is reported to be getting along very nicely. Mrs. Thomas A. Barratt entertained entertain-ed a number of her friends at an afternoon luncheon Wednesday. Music and other social diversions were also enjoyed by the guests. The Utah Power and Light company comp-any just recently finished a line which ran out to Fairfield. The Band Guards of the First ward with their teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth McAllaster, entertained the Beehive class of Mrs. Berniece Adams and Miss Hazel Cobbley, last Thursday evening at a "weenie" roast. Mrs. Earl Holmstead, Mrs. Robert Wagstaff of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Newell Hofheins of Bingham Canyon, spent Saturday and Sunday in Gunnison, guests of Mrs. Holm-stead's Holm-stead's mother, Mrs. Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leavitt, who have been making their home in Brigham City for the past month, called on friends and relatives here Tuesday, enroute to Panguitch and other southern Utah points, where they will reside during the next two years. There were ten present. pres-ent. 'Word was received here Tuesday by relatives of the death of Adolrh Peterson of Gunnison. Mr. Telerson died at the Salina hospital Tuesday at 1 p. m., following an operation for appendicitis, which he underwent Sunday. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ix)iena Grant Peterson, and the j following children: Grant, Reno, Clair and moot. Mrs. Pose II.
