Show THIEF STEALS fiTTBRIEfS AUTO Becoming bold, a thief Wednesday eight stole an automobile belonging to Attorney John T. Pope of Ogden fiorn in front of the residence of his son-in-law, Richard L. Taylor, at C7 J street. Salt Lake. No trace hag yet been obtained of tho missing machine. ma-chine. Mr. Pope went to Salt Lake Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon from Provo. aud going to the home of his daughter on J street left the machine standlug at the front ( curbing and went to bed. When he awoke yesterday morning the machine was missing. He Immediately Im-mediately notified the police. Lieutenant John Hcmpel took the police auto and scoured the city, but found no trace of 1L Mr. Pope is anxious anx-ious about the fate of his car more from the fact that he had taken the water out of It, and If the thief tried to run it far In that condition the chances of it catching fire are great. The car is a Cadillac and numbered 23S U. It is enameled black with brass trimmings. |
