Show f , ? Jess Caldwell Jess Caldwell dies at home Jess Bradley Caldwell, 84, of Vernal died at his home Jan. 22, 1983. He was born in Vernal April 20, 1898 to Noah Ellis and Ida Louise Bradley Caldwell. He married Iva Carroll Nov. 22, 1918. They were later divorced. He married Ruvina Bills, Jan. 11, 1944 in Craig, Colo. He was a farmer, rancher and former owner of Superior Meat Co. He was former president of the Rock Point Canal Co., president of the Brush Creek Cattlemen's Cat-tlemen's Association and Diamond Mountain Cattlemen for 20 years, and member of the Vernal 1st Ward. Survivors are his wife of Vernal ; sons and daughter, Carl J. Caldwell of Roosevelt; Mrs. Lloyd (Claudia) Eaton of Vernal, Paul D. Caldwell of Vernal, Nile H. Caldwell of Orem ; stepchildren, John L. Stone of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Don ( Edith) Proschatis of Vernal ; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; grand-children; four great great grandchildren; grand-children; and brothers and sisters, Wallace Caldwell of Vernal, Mrs. Fern Bergess of Roosevelt, Mrs. Louise Caldwell of Vernal and Kedric Caldwell of Vernal. He was preceded in death by a son, Lyle Caldwell. Funeral services were Jan. 25 in the Vernal 1st Ward Chapel. Services were conducted by Bishop Charles Preece. Paul D. Caldwell gave the family prayer. At the service, Lloyd Eaton gave the invocation. in-vocation. Bishop Preece gave some remarks and Keith Adams sang, "Dear Old Dad," accompanied by Eloise Adams. Ralph Siddoway and Niles Haslam spoke. Duane Hall and Thelma Thacker sang, "One Day at a Time." Kedrick Caldwell gave the benediction. Pallbearers were Dennis Eaton, Cloyd Eaton, Morgan Caldwell, Marty Bennett, Brad Pyper and Gary Caldwell. Interment was in the Dry Fork Cemetery. Bill Calder dedicated the grave. |
