Show A Female. A press reporter lately telegraphed that "a female" had applied ap-plied to the Governor of Ohio for a commission as a notary public, that she was a graduate of Heidelberg, was in every way qualified, but that under the laws of Ohio such a commission commis-sion could not be issued to "a female;" whereupon an indignant Buckeye editor edi-tor rruiarks as follows: "What sort of an animal, we wonder, won-der, is ho talking aboui? Is it a cow. or a marc, or a she-bear, or a woman.' Do the laws of Ohio give commissions lo 'male?' Do all 'mates' apply for them, or only horses and men?
