Show EXAGGERATED flEPOUTji. Humors of rich discoveries in mines, especially if circulated anonymously and in relation to claims which have stock in the market, are to be received with great suspicion. It is impossible for the newspapers to ascertain that they are lalso, and it is unsafe to refuse publication, because they may bo true. It is said that some gentlemen, who had a little spare cath, lost $S0,UO0 of it lately by loaning money on mining stock because they put faith in a published pub-lished telegram. Others made fortunes for-tunes by buying stock on tho laiih of similar telegrams. So goes the world. One of the most wonderful reports lately published, appeared in our ojI-umns ojI-umns yesterday, stating th;it a largv body of siver ore, worth $1,1100 per too, has been found in the Kuimu initio, and that the body uf ure in sight is worth $20,000,000. .Numerous private telegrams have been received here within the last week to tho effect that rich ores have been louud in the Kmma and also in adjacent mines. If these reports are true, Utah will soon be a State, and silver will be more abundant than it now is. AUn California, Cali-fornia, April 4. |
