When the Vikes were later forced to punt, the Timpview return man fumbled and Ortega picked up the loose ball and walked into the endzone. Bezzants point after kick made the score 14-0. Timpview picked off a pass in the second period and returned the interception for a score to cut PG's I lead to 14-6 at the half. With the win PG closed out league play with a 6-1 record and in a three way tie with Mountain View and American Fork. A coin toss was held and the Vikes won. Mountain View and American Fork played each other yesterday after press time and PG will play the winner of that game Saturday on their field. Saturday's battle for first and second is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. The winner of, Saturday's playoff will play the Southern Division winner next week for the Cougar Conference Championship. The Second place teams from the North and South will play each other for third and fourth place in the conference. |
