Auto Drivers Stage i Battle In City Streets MEXICO CITY, Jan. 31. Disturbances In Mexico City and suburbs ac- ' conipanled a scries of demonstrations staged yesterday by chauffeurs chauf-feurs against a recent order from the governor of the federal district requiring all automobile drivers to furnish certificates of good conduct before securing licenses. Tho order followed protests that numbers of chauffeurs urere in reality robbers who placed their trade while driving axi-cabs. Hundreds of drivers were unable to show certificates yesterday and were deprived of their license? Wild street scenes followed, in which tho unlicensed chauffeurs attacked other drivers und wrecked -evral auto mobiles. There were numerous arrests one policeman was shot and seriously wounded.
