Show -More'-Pay.-. For Bountiful Police Dear Editor: After watching Channel 2 Sunday and Monday evenings on TV and hearing the comments com-ments of some of our police officers, I think the city officials of-ficials should be ashamed. HOW CAN they possibly justify funds for a new golf course (fenced in), Club House, new City Hall, other outdoor recreation facilities, a new fire station in the Maple Hills area (unmanned) but cannot afford to pay the police officers a decent income, in-come, with use of a police car, and enough funds to pay for firemen to man this expensive new fire station. It seems to" me there is money for everything except to see that the city of Bountiful has proper police and fire protection. protec-tion. Just the police cars parked in the various locations loca-tions throughout the city is a crime deterent alone. I for one hope our crime increases until these officials see the error of their ways. Just imagine a city of over 43,000 and just four police officers of-ficers to a shift, can crime be far behind. A concerned citizen P.S. Gray |
