Show Mrs. Ruby Layton returned home last Tuesday from a two-month vacation spent in Old Mexico and Phoenix, Ariz. She was a member of a Greyhound bus tour. She saw many places of interest in Mexico and spent the Christmas Christ-mas holidays in Mexico City. She visited with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Davis in Phoenix for five weeks. Mr. Davis was stationed at Hill Air Force Base and they were residents in Layton for many years. Since his retirement, they have made their home in Phoenix. Miss Lori Peterson, daughter of Mrs. Eldora Peterson Pe-terson of Bountiful is serving a LDS Mission in the Australian Aus-tralian and Sidney Mission field. Many relatives, friends and neighbors called to wish her well at a testimonial held for her in the Bountiful Sixth Ward. In this group were many local people, thirty-five rela- tives and friends came to greet her from Heber City, Spring vi lie, Grantsville, Murray and Redmond, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Clark, her maternal grandparents from Springville were special guests. Many parties were held for Lori before her departure. Lori has two sisters, Loraine and Lorna living with her mother, Eldora. Lorie saved her own money for her mission by working a year after she graduated from Viewmont High School. Mr. and Mrs. Rav Lee en- tertained at dinner Saturday evening honoring Mrs. Ruby M. Layton for her birthday anniversary. Their guests were family members, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hale, Mr. and Mrs. Al Jewel and son Ray. They were all happy to have Aunt Ruby home after a two-month two-month vacation spent in Old Mexico and Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit C. VanDyk celebrated their thirty-seventh wedding anniversary an-niversary last Wednesday evening. Dinner was served to adult family members and grandchildren. The VanDyks live at 94 North 100 West, where they keep a beautiful home and yard. They fly the American flag on their front porch every day, weather permitting. America is their adopted country. They came here from Holland many years ago. They are active members of the Bountiful Sixth Ward. They are valuable valua-ble American citizens, good neighbors, good friends and good parents. The Bountiful people wish them happiness and many more joyful wedding anniversaries. anniver-saries. Gerritt and Albertge are both accomplished musicians and they contribute con-tribute much of their talent to their church and community. Utah law requires all children to have the shots before entering school. The vaccines, administered by a public health nurse, include DPT for diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, measles and rubella. |
