Show Small Business. Cottonwood, March 26, 1886. Ed. Democbat: What a commentary on journalism it is for a paper like the News to advocate boycotting a man and try to hurt him financially for no other reason than that he happened to be on a jury that convicted a Mormon. This is the case with Mr. A. C. Bnxen of the V alley House, whose establishment the paper referred to advises its readers not to natrnniro hanonon i, j f vi,ivic iiC agieeu in linding a verdict m accordance with the facts in the case of the People vs. B Y Hampton. What would the News have him do? Violate his oath? It would seem so. But he knows his duty too well for them, and he also knows his business as a hotel man. I have been there and know that he makes no discrimination between Mormon and Gentile, Jew and pagan, but treats all alike. I write this in justice to Mr. Brlxen, whom I have known long and pleasantly M. D. |
