Show The Correct "Herald." Speaking about defects in orthography and that sort of thing, we are reminded of the following remarkable notice which appeared ap-peared in the Salt Lake Herald on March 11th: DIED. Covey In this city, March 16th, 1886, of pneumonia, Almira Mack, wife of the late Benjamin Covey. Born in Tunbridge, Orange County, Vermont, April 28th, 1886. Funeral services from the Twelfth Ward Meeting House, Sunday, March 14th, at 12 o'clock m. It will be seen that the lady is made to have died more than a month prior to her birth, and the editor attempts to bury her two days before she died. The above is an exact copy of the notice as it appeared ap-peared in the issue named. Some few days afterwards a corrected notice appeared, ap-peared, and the reporter carried a look which indicated that he had met several of the outraged relatives of the deceased. |
