Show Margie and Fritz Schweitzer have opened store called Life Trends in Centerville. Fit to be fit Centerville health firm opens to help residents stay in shape diovascular system. It combines all the benefits of walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, rowing and calisthenics. Senior citizens not only get special spe-cial prices at Life Trends, they also get a lot of benefits from using the tables. Fritz reports that across the nation, senior citizens have done well with the machines. The machines give flexibility and mobility mo-bility and are good for improving circulation and reducing water retention re-tention too. Fritz and Margie also like the fact that using the machines can be tailored to each person's needs. The machines are computerized with a variable speed that can be adjusted to the individual. The speed can be increased after several sever-al sessions when some muscle tone has been developed. Margie helps clients- set goals and when those goals are met she helps them set up a maintenance program. Fritz has kept records on one group of 24 people who use the salon. Those people have lost a total tot-al of 173 inches or about 7.2 inches per person so far. It is also about .78 inches per session. Fritz will continue to monitor the group until they reach their goals. Fritz and Margie aic happy to demonstrate Life Trends Professional Profes-sional Body Toning. The first session ses-sion is always free to introduce the system. It's an interesting idea and no doubt one that will benefit many people. By CHERIE HUBER "It's an enjoyable business and we like dealing with the people who come in," agree Fritz and Margie Schweitzer. Fritz and Margie were living in Kansas and looking for something different to do and a reason to move back to the mountains when Life Trends offered Fritz the opportunity to be a dealer and own a Life Trends Professional Body Toning salon. The Schweitzers had the option of choosing where they would like to live and they chose the Bountiful-Centerville area. Their Life Trends salon opened in September at 206 E. Pages Lane. At the same time Fritz became the Mountainwest distributor for the Life Trends equipment, Margie, who trained in a Life Trends salon in Kansas before their move here," runs the salon. The equipment, Fritz explains, was invented by a man who wanted to help his sister who had polio. Because the machines do much of the work, she could get exercise even though she had very limited muscle strength. Eventually the man's patents ran out and were not renewed so a national business picked them up. "Life Trends Professional Body Toning equipment has been around about 20 years and the company is the leading distributor on the national na-tional level," Fritz says. Life Trends uses a series of seven machines that exercise various va-rious muscle combinations. While the purpose of the machines is to exercise you to lose inches and to firm up muscles, there are good side benefits too. Working with the machines is also good for stress management and to relieve pressure press-ure and tensions. "Many clients comment on how relaxing it is to use the machines," Fritz says, "and how good their body feels after af-ter each session." Fritz has seen a lot of success stories as people work to improve their body tone. Using the Life Trends machines also seems to be helpful for arthritic arthri-tic patients. One woman who could hardly walk worked just one month and had enough improvements to go shopping. Her blood pressure is down to normal too. An office worker who uses the machines on a regular basis trimmed off excess weight in two months. A lady who was recovering from a broken ankle came in and started using the machines. The sessions helped to improve her circulation and limbered up her stiff joints. Fritz says that the system is also good for exercise after hip replacement replace-ment and to eliminate some stiffness stiff-ness of joints because the machines work gently. . , However he does stress that it is important to be moderate about eating and drinking so the exercises exer-cises can work and help the client feel better. Fritz will guarantee that the client will lose inches if they eat moderately and do not gain pounds while they are using the machines on a regular basis. One woman who weighed 200 pounds the first of January 1987 is now down to 135 pounds after using the machines on a regular basis for ten months. Fritz and Margie recommend using us-ing the machines three times a week. Each session takes an hour. Eight minutes is spent on each machine as the client goes from table to table. A new massage machine and an electric bicycle have also recently been added. The exercycle exercises all the major muscle groups and aerobically stimulates sti-mulates respiration and the car- |
