The concentrating works at Milford were started up on Sunday last. Some of the belting wus found to be inadequate to the work required and Mr. A. G. Campbell telegraphed to Salt , Lake for more, which had to be adjusted before the wheels could be put in motion again. C. B. Stevens, of Milford, was taken to Ueaver on Monday last to answer to a charge preferred against him of neglect of duty while acting as justice of the peace there. The Grand Jury made an investigation in-vestigation of the caee and have indicted him upon the same. He gave bonds and returned home. Within the past week several rich strikes have been reported from different parts of the camp of Silver Reef, and, notwithstanding tho depreciation in the price of silver, a very hopeful feeling Beems to prevail among the mining men. Numerous claims that have been idle for years are being opened up and worked with flattering results. The promises made by the Leaching Company to chloridefs have induced many individual owners to work low grade mines. As a consequence several bodies of rich ore have been discovered, and mines that a year ago were considered worthless, are proving to be bonanzas. |
