Show I Six students honored by IP ilcal students have won $7,000 President's Scholarships to the University of Utah, the highest award given to entering freshmen from Utah. n 1?.e,aw,rds went to Jonathan Brett LeVitre, David H. Moore, Knsten Ridges and Cameron J. Rose, all Bountiful High; Richelle C. Ryckaert, Woods Cross High; and David Michael Jensen, View-mont View-mont High. Students throughout the state who had a 3.6 grade point average and scores in the 90th percentile or higher were invited to compete for the awards. Of about 2,800 prospective pros-pective freshmen, 300 applied and 58 were selected. President's Scholarships pay full tuition plus a stripend for four years of college. Recipients are expected ex-pected to maintain a 3.5 GPA. LeVitre is the son of Richard and Ann LeVitre, 1301 E. Indian Trails Circle, Bountiful. He has a 3.7 GPA and plans to major in linguistics. linguis-tics. Moore is the son of Garry K. and LaNell Moore, 2130 S. 1150 E., Bountiful. He has a 4.0 GPA and is undecided on his major. Ridges is the daughter of Edward and Janice Ridges, 1419 E. Center St., Bountiful. She has a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in materials science sci-ence engineering. Rose is the son of Joel and Lucy Rose, 2688 Wood Hollow Way, Bountiful. He has a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in physics. Ryckaert is the daughter of Edward Ed-ward and Janice Ridges, 3186 S. 200 E., Bountiful. She has a 3.98 GPA and plans to major in music. Jensen is the son of Marvin R. and Kathleen Jensen, 374 W. 100 S., Bountiful. He has a 3.9 GPA and plans a physics major. |
