Show Plays in a Mining Drama Now. ' This morning while a Democrat reporter re-porter was leisurely admiring the myriad of beautiful things to be found in Parson's book store, his attention was very forcibly brought to the fact that even in a book store a fellow can be surprised, by feeling a tap on . the shoulder, and hearing "Hello, old boy, how are you?" ring in his ear.--Turning to see who thus familiarly fa-miliarly accosted him, the newsgatherer beheld the smiling physique ot no less a person than" : Alphonso A. Hovey, the author of "Brought to Light," and formerly for-merly a resident for many years in this city. "Phonso" is now located in Idaho, where he is engaged in mining. He says he has struck a big thing, and that the dramatic business is far in the shade compared to it. He and his "pard" have been offered $3,000 for their claims, which are only slightly developed, but they intend holding on till the property is worth $10,000 before they will be induced in-duced to sell. Mr. Hovey will remain a few days visiting his relations and friends in Salt Lake, and then take himself back to Idaho to his wife, mine and other "pard." Success to all three. |
